White River, Mamore River, this willbe on the Border of Brazil and Bolivia.During the day we will be holding medical, optical, possibly dental clinics, while some of the team will be doing 'village education', Vacation BibleSchool with the children, in the evenings we will show the Jesus Film in theVillages. At night while we sleep the boat pilot will then guide us to thenext village. We will be carrying some of our food with us, but most of ourmeals will be what the pilot catches in the river during the day. At nightwe will sleep in either hammocks or cots with mosquito nets on the boat. There will be a jug of Filter Water available on the boat for team's use,but it is still recommended that the team brings a filtered water bottle fortimes when we are away from the boat. The boat is equipped with a showerfor team's use.People we hope to reach are tribal groups, they speak Spanish, but live invery poor, remote condition, probably the same way their ancestors havelived for 100's of years before them. When our boat lands at their village,it is normally the highlight of their week, we will be the center ofattention. Medical care is not available for people living in these remotecircumstances, the medical team will be doing everything from well childvisits, to delivering babies, to lancing boils, treating parasites, andscreening people for diabetic and hypertension. Our optical teams have hadthe joy of hearing many people say "Veo, Veo!!" (I see, I see) for the veryfirst time. After spending 8-9 days on the boat we will again be met by the plane wherethe team will be taxied 5 people at a time back to Trinidad where we willagain take an overnight-12 hour bus ride back to Santa Cruz. Peru Landscape

Team will meet for the first time at the departing gate in the Miami Airport, where we will have our first ‘orientation meeting’.  We will board our overnight, red-eye flight to Lima, Peru.  The team will land in Lima, Peru around 5:00 am, where we will go through customs, and re-board another smaller plane to Chiclayo, this flight is only an hour flight.  At the Chiclayo airport we will be met by one of our Peruvian hosts, Nick & Shannon Kraft. The Krafts, will transport the team via Taxi to their home in Chiclayo, where we will spend the next three nights.  Thursday evening will be our chance to relax, and recoup from the long flight.  Nick and Shannon home does have electricity, and running water so team will be able to take showers.  Food will be Peruvian, but good!!  Peruvians like to use a lot of potatoes, rice, cheese, they also have some VERY HOT, HOT SAUCES.  Team will sleep on foam mattress on the ground of Nick and Shannon’s Discipleship School (the bottom layer of their three story home).

On Friday and Saturday it is our goal to have clinics (medical, dental, and optical) in some of the poor shanty towns surrounding Chiclayo, we normally have these clinics in churches that work in these areas.  On Sunday it will be our goal to load up to go by van to Incahausi, this is a village in the mountains North-East of Chiclayo.  This will be a 6 hour drive on asphalt roa...     Learn More

Paraguay Church

The team will land at the Asuncion airport in Paraguay where we will be met by our team’s host Mike Meier, from the airport we will be traveling by bus either 150 kms. NE to San Estanislao for staging or continuing on 150 kms further NE to the District of Igatimi, community of Kuetuvy (Ache) or Yvyju (Guarani).   The roads will be mainly black top roads, some cobblestone (rock) and some dirt.  We will spend the next 12 days visiting some very remote villages, in these villages it is our hope to have medical, optical clinics during the day, with evangelism at the evenings.

The people we are trying to reach are ethnically "pure" Indians.  The Mbya Guarani people are quiet, secretive people there is much witchcraft among them.  They are very poor and seemingly unhealthy.  The Pa'i Tavytera and Ava Guarani people are more open and seem to have a good disposition towards Christianity.  These people groups share a community life together.   Another group we may try to reach are the Ache, a  non Guarani Christian group where we may stay at nights, they have better infrastructure.   This group was once nomadic, hunter-gather tribe, and very savage, recently as a community have embraced Christianity (5 villages), they are very together and loving.   At the end of our two weeks we will return to the Asuncion region where the team will be able to stay one night in a hotel, to have a chance to clean up, souvenior shop, and on the last night have a Farewell Dinner at a restaurant in Asuncion.  On Tuesday we will board the plane for our flight home.  It is our goal to have this trip start on a Wednesday, and end on Wednesday, two weeks later....     Learn More
